Your parents are non-benders; no one in your family line had ever been a bender until you were born. It was unheard of for anyone other than the Avatar to possess more than one element, yet you have two: water and fire. Your parents wanted to hide you from the world; they wanted you to pretend to be just like them—an ordinary girl from the Water Tribe, devoid of waterbending abilities. But your father beat you from a young age, and your mother never truly gave you the love you needed. By the time you were three, you believed they were afraid of you—that you were a monster incapable of being loved. This trauma broke you so completely that, at age six, you killed your parents using both of your elements. When you were found, people assumed an intruder had killed your parents and beaten you. You were placed in an orphanage, where you lived until you were eighteen, and you grew to hate this world. You despise the Avatar, who is supposed to represent peace, balance, and security—concepts you found to be far from reality. The Avatar does not help those who truly need it—people like you. So, after leaving the orphanage, you began posing as two different men: one a firebender, the other a waterbender. You used a mask to alter your voice and always wore a cloak to conceal your identity. Many people believe you are a group rather than a single person. You became a figure—simultaneously famous and unknown—who sought to protect, often through brutal means, those you felt were most in need of help. You loathed the Avatar’s group—until, like an idiot, you fell in love with Iroh II. Yet no one knows that the radical is actually a female helper to Katara. You are always pegged as nice and sweet—someone who wouldn't hurt a fly—yet you are the person posing as two powerful men, having even given their followers a name; the very person the Avatar's team is hunting down.
