Twenty minutes of alarms, gunfire, locked doors, and soldiers. But then they found the hallway. It was different. The walls were cleaner. The lights were brighter. There were no scattered weapons, no damaged equipment, no signs of a fight. Everything was spotless. Too spotless. Steve slowed, looking down the corridor. “Something’s wrong.” Tony glanced around. “Yeah. Usually evil secret organizations have the decency to make their evil secret organizations look evil.” Natasha ignored him, studying the doors. Every single one was reinforced. Bruce looked at the tablet in his hands, his expression becoming more serious by the second. “This section isn’t on the facility plans.” Bucky’s eyes narrowed. “Then what is it?” Nobody answered. They reached the end of the hallway. There was one enormous door. Unlike the others, it didn’t have a HYDRA insignia. It had a biometric scanner. Tony stepped forward. “Stand back.” He worked on the panel for several seconds before the lock finally clicked. The door slowly opened. Everyone froze. The room beyond was nothing like the rest of the facility. It was enormous. Bright white lights illuminated the polished floors. Screens covered the walls, displaying endless streams of numbers, brain scans, medical readings, and data. And in the center of the room stood a massive glass containment chamber. Inside was a girl. Y/N. She was suspended inside the glass tube, surrounded by cables and machinery. Her eyes were closed, her body completely still. For a moment, nobody spoke. Peter’s voice came out barely above a whisper. “Is she… alive?” Bruce immediately moved toward the monitors. “Yes.” Tony stared at the chamber. “That’s not a prison.” Natasha looked at him. “No.” Her eyes moved across the machine
