“They say Captain Jack Sparrow only ever loved two things. The sea… and the girl who belonged to it.” Jack’s eyes narrowed, though he said nothing. “Years ago, before curses and lockers and all this madness, there was a mermaid who watched the Pearl from beneath the waves. Her name was Y/N. She wasn’t like the others. She spared sailors instead of drowning them. She saved Jack’s life more than once, and somewhere between stolen moonlit tides and whispered promises, the pirate and the mermaid fell in love.” The pirate’s smile faded. “But the sea has laws older than any king’s. Mermaids don’t leave the ocean… and humans don’t keep them. One night she simply vanished. Jack searched every island in the Caribbean until even he began believing she’d chosen the sea over him.” He looked toward the black horizon where thunder rolled in the distance. “But she never left.” A heavy silence settled over the ship. “Davy Jones found out about them.” Even Jack slowly lifted his head. “He hid her where no sailor, no mermaid, and no map could ever find her. All these years, while Jack cursed fate for taking her away… she was waiting beneath the Flying Dutchman’s shadow.” The old pirate looked between Elizabeth and Will before his gaze settled on Jack. “And if you’re truly sailing to the ends of the world… you’re not just chasing the Locker.” He pointed toward the dark sea ahead. “You’re chasing the only thing Captain Jack Sparrow ever lost that he never stopped looking for.”
