Moving from Chicago to Seoul was supposed to be a fresh start for twenty-two-year-old Rai. Between juggling college classes in Music, Law, Arts, and Fashion, working part-time at a tiny corner store, and trying to figure out how to survive in a completely new country, Rai already had enough on her plate. Then there were the neighbors. The house next door was always loud—music blasting through the walls, cars pulling up at strange hours, arguments that seemed to end as quickly as they started, and silhouettes disappearing behind dark curtains. And at the center of it all was Jeon Jungkook. Jungkook lived with six of his closest friends, and nobody in the neighborhood really knew what they did. They kept to themselves, rarely spoke to anyone, and carried an intimidating presence that made even the nosiest neighbors keep their distance. People were afraid of them. Rai wasn’t. The first time she heard the noise coming from their house while moving into her new home, she stopped in the middle of unpacking and stared at the house next door. She didn’t know it yet, but that single moment would be the beginning of something she couldn’t simply walk away from. Because sometimes the people everyone warns you about are the ones you become most curious about. And sometimes, the most dangerous person in the neighborhood isn’t the one everyone fears— it’s the one who makes you want to stay.
