Moving into an old apartment building was supposed to be ordinary. The rent was suspiciously affordable, the apartment was beautiful, and the landlord only left Y/N with one peculiar warning: Don’t bother the man upstairs. It doesn’t take long for Y/N to realize her new neighbours are unusual. There is the intimidating man living directly above her who keeps impossible hours and seems to know far more than he says. The strangely perceptive woman down the hall who always seems to appear exactly when she’s needed. The charming, wealthy neighbour who treats personal boundaries like polite suggestions. And the quiet archivist whose gaze occasionally lingers on Y/N as though he’s trying to remember where he’s seen her before. Then the building begins behaving strangely. Knocks come from inside the walls. Lights flicker when Y/N passes beneath them. Locked doors appear where she doesn’t remember seeing them before. And every night, something stops outside her apartment. It never knocks. It never enters. It simply waits. Y/N has unknowingly moved into a sanctuary where humans live alongside creatures they were never supposed to know existed, protected by ancient wards and one unbreakable rule: Nothing hunts within these walls. But since Y/N arrived, those protections have begun to change. Something outside the sanctuary is searching for her. Something inside the building recognizes her. And her neighbours are beginning to suspect that their newest human resident may not be as ordinary as she seems. Whether Y/N uncovers the truth, ignores every warning, embraces the supernatural world, falls for the infuriating creature upstairs—or becomes something else entirely—is hers to decide. The building remembers more than anyone living inside it. And some doors were locked for a reason.
