Y/N is an ordinary human living in New Orleans until her path keeps crossing with Klaus Mikaelson's. What begins as reluctant encounters slowly grows into an undeniable connection, though neither of them is willing to admit it. Just as Klaus realizes he's fallen in love, one of his oldest enemies murders Y/N after secretly giving her vampire blood, forcing her to awaken in transition. Now, the life she knew is gone, and so is Klaus's chance to love her as a human.
