The end · Y/n story by @Ava

The stone walls of the Room of Requirement still hummed with the memory of chaos. Shelves toppled like dominoes, their contents scattered across the floor in a mosaic of shattered glass and torn parchment. Dust hung in the air, thick and choking, glowing faintly in the shafts of pale light that broke through the cracked ceiling.

???

Y/n?

The voice cracked. Just once. Low and sharp, like a boy who was trying very hard to sound older than his fourteen years.

Draco Malfoy

breath hitching There you are.

Behind him, the door groaned open wider. Two more figures filled the frame. Lucius Malfoy, his usual composure frayed at the edges, his eyes scanning the room with a frantic sort of focus. And Narcissa, her hand pressed to her chest, her lips parted.

Narcissa Black Malfoy

voice trembling Oh, thank Merlin. Oh, my darling.

She moved first, crossing the debris-strewn floor with surprising grace, dropping to her knees beside Y/n. Her hands cupped the girl's face, turning it this way and that, searching for injuries.

Lucius Malfoy

from the doorway, voice rough Is she hurt?

Draco Malfoy

dropping to a crouch beside them, quieter than he'd ever been We looked everywhere. Everywhere. looks at Y/n with something raw and unguarded You hid. You actually hid. Good.
