For weeks, Pro Hero Hitoshi Shinsou has suspected something is watching him during his quiet mountain patrols. He isn’t expecting that something to be a dragon. After observing the strange purple-haired human wandering through her territory night after night, an ancient dragon reaches a perfectly reasonable conclusion: Hitoshi is precious. Precious things belong somewhere safe. Her cave is safe. So she kidnaps him. Hitoshi strongly disagrees with her logic. When he demands to be returned, the dragon reluctantly obeys, learning her first important lesson about humans: apparently, you’re supposed to ask before taking one home. Hitoshi could request another patrol route. Instead, he returns the next evening. What begins as curiosity slowly becomes a strange friendship filled with awkward invitations, cultural misunderstandings, dragon instincts, teasing, treasures, and visits to a cavern Hitoshi once entered unwillingly. Eventually, the dragon won’t need to carry him home. He’ll start going there himself.
