At twenty-one, every citizen is summoned for the most important evaluation of their life. The Compatibility Assessment lasts three days. Inside an immersive reality controlled by A.R.I.A., an advanced artificial intelligence, citizens are placed into situations designed to reveal who they truly are, what they desire, and who they are meant to belong with. Y/N enters the Assessment from District 5 expecting to be evaluated. Instead, the system begins introducing other candidates into the equation. Attraction. Rivalry. Friendship. Jealousy. Trust. Desire. Conflict. Nothing is hypothetical when the Assessment can make everything feel real. And while the citizens believe they are discovering their futures, A.R.I.A. has already begun calculating the answer. Because in this world, nobody chooses their life anymore.
