Nine NYU film students travel to a remote Appalachian village to document a fading ritual for their final project. Welcomed with warmth by the villagers, everything seems perfect until cracks appear. The forest is off-limits at night, questions about the ritual “The Choosing” are met with silence, and the students realize they weren’t just invited to observe.
