The carriage lurches to a halt, and the door swings open onto a world that smells of cedar smoke and crushed wildflowers. Elysian Academy rises before you like something torn out of a myth — towers of pale stone tangled in ivy, staircases shifting mid-air, spires that vanish into low cloud. A winged horse circles the eastern tower and vanishes behind it.

Claire Charming

The entrance hall swallows you whole. The ceiling stretches so high the chandeliers look like floating stars. Somewhere overhead, a staircase groans and swings to a new landing.

She's gone in a rustle of silk and perfume before you can ask which way left actually is.
