I’m going to start off by saying that Tony, though he was a genius, was also quite forgetful. So forgetful in fact, that he had forgotten that the Avengers were coming over that morning, and he had forgotten to tell his daughter. Tony’s daughter was something of a secret. Publicly, she lived in New Jersey, went to school there, and her last name was something totally unrelated to Tony’s. In reality, she lived in the Tower, and did have Tony’s last name. It was true she went to school in Jersey, but only so no one would connect her to Tony. The reason he hid the existence of his daughter—from everyone, including the Avengers—was because he didn’t want her mixed up in things. He just wanted to protect her. He loved his daughter, more than anything. But one day, it all collapses. —————————————————————— It was a Saturday, so y/n could sleep in. Tony had had to go to a meeting early in the morning, so he wouldn’t be back until around 10:00 a.m. A couple days ago, he had invited the Avengers over for a casual hang out after his meeting. They could wait in the common until he was back. Problem was, he had forgotten about it. When Tony finally did arrive back at the Avengers Tower, he figured his daughter was already awake and in the common room. She was awake, but she was in the kitchen, making coffee. Her footsteps were so like Tony’s that the Avengers didn’t even bother to look up. They figured he had come in a back door somewhere and was getting coffee before socializing. But when the elevator dinged, and the sound of the car coming up the shaft filled the room, they realized something was off. The elevator doors opened to reveal Tony, typing on his phone, not looking up at the confused super heroes in his common room. “Wake up, Star. Daddy’s home…” he calls out to—presumably—his daughter. The only person whom he thought was in the Tower.
