The late afternoon sun painted the driveway in warm gold as yet another car pulled up to the house—this one a sleek black tour van, its side emblazoned with the Descendants: Zombies World Collide Tour logo. Doors slid open in unison, and the energy outside swelled instantly.

???

This place is sick!

Gavin Martinez

chuckles, stepping forward to greet them It works. Ball's in the garage.

Gavin and Y/N's other brother moved through the growing crowd of arrivals, trading handshakes and pounds with the boys while the girls laughed and high-fived them, suitcases and garment bags being hauled from the van like the chaos was perfectly choreographed. The driveway filled with overlapping voices, name-calling, jokes, and the squeak of wheels on concrete.

Kylie Cantrall

Okay, this is gorgeous. You actually live here?

Gavin Martinez

My sister owns it. You'll meet her.

Freya Skye

Your sister? This whole place is hers?

Gavin Martinez

a small, proud smile She worked hard for it.

Malachi Barton

already wandering toward the house, hands in his pockets, eyes scanning the architecture I could get used to this.

Joshua Colley

You'd get used to a cardboard box if it had Wi-Fi.

Laughter echoed as more bags came out, the group migrating toward the front door in a loose, excited cluster. Gavin glanced over his shoulder once toward the upstairs window, but nothing moved behind the glass. She was still up there. Good.

Malachi Barton

to himself, almost under his breath Huh.

He didn't move. Just stood there a second longer than he should have, watching the way she tapped her pen to the beat, the way the late light cut through the window behind her.

Gavin Martinez

calling from the stairs Malachi! You good?

Malachi Barton

snaps back, easy smile sliding into place Yeah. Just—checking the layout.

He turned away, heading back toward the others as if nothing had happened. But he glanced down the hall one more time before disappearing around the corner, the image of the girl in the studio lingering longer than he'd admit.
