The common room of the U.A. Heights Alliance dorms hummed with the low buzz of an air conditioner struggling against the July heat. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting long rectangles of gold across the worn carpet.

The pillow missed. It hit Kirishima in the face instead.

still scrolling on her phone, one earbud in You literally just sat there and let it hit you.

Y/n watched the exchange from the armchair in the corner, book open in their lap. The pages had long since blurred together. Hard to focus when the heat stuck to everything like syrup.

drapes herself over the back of the couch I'm serious, guys. We're gonna look back on this summer and be like remember when we sat in the dorms and melted like popsicles? What a memory.
