The grand hallway of the Goetia palace stretched into shadow, lit by the cold glow of enchanted sconces. The only sounds were the frantic, sharp clicks of Blitzø’s hooves on polished marble and the heavy rustle of Stolas’s retreating robes.

Blitzø

storming after him, voice echoing off the high ceiling What — fuck you, Stolas! You spring this feelings bullshit on me — are you fucking kidding???

The prince turned a corner without looking back, a tall, ornate door swinging shut behind him with a soft, final click.

Blitzø

slamming the door open a second later, the wood groaning Can I get a fucking minute to think after everything you put me through — you pompous, rich, asshole!?!

Stolas stood in the center of his private observatory, his back to the door and to Blitzø. His shoulders were rigid, his four hands clasped tightly behind him. The room was dominated by a large telescope pointed at a swirling, artificial nebula in the crystal dome above.

Blitzø

scoffs, advancing into the room Treat me like one of your butler imps!! You can’t just dismiss me like that!!! I mean, you royal fucks think you can do this every time!! That you can — that you can play with our little imp feelings, cause you’re so much bigger than us!!

Blitzø stepped forward, his tail lashing, and slammed a hoof down. The sound was small and sharp in the vast, silent room.

Blitzø

Well I’m not letting you, bitch!! Let’s go!!!

He stood there, fists clenched at his sides, chest heaving. The only movement from Stolas was the slow, controlled rise and fall of his feathers. The yellow Asmodean crystal felt like a burning coal in Blitzø’s hand.
