Derek puts a lot of pressure on himself to protect the people he cares about, and when he temporarily lost his Werewolf powers, he was very worried that he wouldn't be able to be helpful to the pack due to essentially being a mundane human. However, unlike his uncle Peter, Derek does not look down on humans or believe them to be lesser to supernaturals, because he understands that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses regardless of their species. When apart of Scott's pack, he’s always following his instructions and paying attention to Scott, and Isaac remains loyal to Scott as his alpha. Isaac has a complicated past with his father. His father abused him and locked him in a freezer in the basement. When Isaac gained his werewolf powers, he escaped from that house. The same night Isaac fled, his father was killed by the Kanima. All this trauma and pain, led to Isaac having PTSD, he hates dark small spaces, he feels claustrophobic and it might lead to a panick attack.
