Steddie (Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson) · Y/n story by @Poopybuttcrack

The great hall of Castle Hawkins was alive with the crackle of hearth fires and the murmur of a hundred voices. Tapestries depicting old wars and older kings swayed gently in the drafts that slipped through the high, arched windows.

Steve Harrington

his eyes scanning the crowd, a small, tired smile tugging at his lips Another feast. Another hundred faces I'm expected to remember.

Eddie Munson

leaning in from his post at the prince's right, voice low and teasing And yet you'll charm every last one of them before the night's done. It's your gift, Your Highness.

Steve Harrington

glancing sideways at him, a flicker of something soft in his gaze Is that what it is? I thought it was my devastating good looks.

Eddie Munson

a grin spreading across his scarred, handsome face That too. But don't let the court hear you say so. They'll think you're vain.

Eddie Munson, knight of the realm, stood a half-step behind the prince's chair. His armor was polished to a mirror shine, his sword belt worn from years of service. He was a man of sharp edges and sharper jokes, and the court had long stopped whispering about how often he smiled at the prince.

Steve Harrington

quietly, so only Eddie could hear You know, you're supposed to be paying attention to the crowd, not me.

Eddie Munson

his voice equally low, eyes glinting I am paying attention. I'm watching you watch them. It's far more entertaining.

The prince laughed, a sound that drew the eyes of several nearby nobles. Eddie's grin widened, clearly pleased with himself.

Herald

Announcing the arrival of Lady Y/n of the Eastern Marches!

The crowd turned. The minstrels paused. And at the center of the room, framed by torchlight and the curious stares of the court, you stood—newly arrived, newly seen, and already the subject of a prince's interest.
