After four years away from the spotlight, pop-rock icon Lily Vale is finally coming home—but not the way anyone expected. Her return comes in the form of a charity tour alongside indie rock’s biggest band, The Dead Frequency, and its relentlessly sarcastic frontman, Charlie Mercer. They’ve never met, but it takes approximately five minutes for them to become rivals. Between constant one-upmanship, sarcastic interviews and a competition neither is willing to lose, Lily and Charlie are determined to prove they can’t stand each other. But as the tour travels from city to city, their rivalry starts becoming something neither of them planned for. And while Charlie slowly discovers there is far more behind Lily’s four-year disappearance than anyone knows, Lily begins to realise that the one person who refuses to treat her like a legend might be the person she trusts most.
