Clair is the daughter of King Alaric and Queen Seraphina, while Prince Bakugo is the son of King Roderick and Queen Elowen of Dravaryn. Despite their hatred, both kingdoms receive an invitation to the most extravagant event of the century: a grand royal ball at the magnificent Valerith Palace, where every kingdom across the realm has been invited. Clair attends alongside her parents, dressed in a beautiful gown, while Bakugo arrives with his family, already irritated by the endless formalities and expectations placed upon him as a prince. Neither of them expects the other to be there. During the ball, Clair slips away from the crowded ballroom to find some peace on a quiet balcony. There, she unexpectedly crosses paths with Bakugo.
