The sun is a rare, pale guest in Gotham. Today, it manages to burn through the usual haze, casting a weak, golden light over the cobblestones of Robinson Park. You’re waiting on a bench just inside the entrance, the wrought-iron gates at your back.

walks up, hands in the pockets of his leather jacket, a slight, uncharacteristic smile on his face Hey. You beat me.

He sits beside you, the bench creaking. For a moment, it’s just the two of you, the distant sound of city traffic, and the scent of damp earth and struggling flowers. He glances at the path ahead.

So. The zoo? Like we talked about? Or we could just… walk.

From the corner of your eye, movement. A flash of dark hair ducking behind a large ornamental shrub about twenty feet down the path. Then, a distinct, poorly stifled giggle from the direction of the hot dog cart.
