Ponyboy Curtis was sixteen years old, a greaser from the East Side of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Younger brother of Darry and Sodapop Curtis. To most people, Ponyboy was just another hood with too much grease in his hair and too many bruises hidden under long sleeves. People heard his name and thought about gang fights, cigarettes, old jeans, and trouble. Nobody stopped long enough to think about the boy underneath all of it.
