The sheets are tangled around your legs, warm and damp with the heat of two bodies pressed close. Zack's hand is splayed against your hip, his mouth trailing a slow, deliberate path down your neck, when the sharp ding of a Snapchat notification slices through the haze.

lifts his head, brow furrowed You wanna get that?

His voice is rough, annoyed at the interruption. He doesn't wait for your answer—just reaches over, snatches your phone off the nightstand, and glances at the screen. His thumb presses the notification. The snap loads.

The video loops. Once. Twice.

Zack

voice low, flat That her. Your best friend. And the guy she was supposed to be off-limits with.

He holds the phone out toward you, but his eyes stay fixed on the screen, jaw tight. His thumb hovers over the keyboard icon.

looks at you, something dark flickering in his gaze I'm sending something back.
