In 1987, Hawkins is a militarized war zone. You (Y/N) work with Steve at the local radio station, using the airwaves to track Vecna and send coded messages to the group. Amidst the falling ash and monster attacks, Steve becomes your constant protector, finding a sense of peace in your presence that he hasn't felt in years. While rescuing Holly Wheeler from the Upside Down, you and Steve are trapped together in a bunker. He finally admits he’s done chasing the past and wants a future with you. After Vecna’s defeat, the gates close for good, and Steve chooses to leave his "babysitter" days behind to start a quiet, new life by your side.
