The two halves of the Avengers hadn’t spoken in years. They didn’t speak now. They just moved like they’d never stopped fighting together.

Tony hit the ground first, repulsors flaring as he landed hard enough to send fragments of pavement skittering. Steve was already there. He didn’t look over.

No greetings. No reunions. Just the old rhythm, folding back into place like it had never broken.

Then Peter noticed the other Spider-person.

Peter stared. A creature nearly clipped him. He twisted away at the last second, webbing a streetlight to swing himself back into the fight. His eyes kept drifting.

Later. He’d think about it later.

Then the green light came.

It rippled outward from the center of the street, washing over everything in a single, soundless wave. Every one of Loki’s creatures vanished. Not retreated. Not destroyed. Simply gone.

The abrupt silence was louder than the fighting had been.

With nothing left to fight, the silence settled in around them all. And for the first time since Germany, both sides stood in the same street. Close enough to see each other clearly.
