Shadows of Peggy Carter · Y/n story by @unlessloreen

The Manhattan skyline glittered through the floor-to-ceiling windows of Avengers Tower's main briefing room, the morning sun casting long shadows across polished glass surfaces. At precisely nine o'clock, the doors swept open.

Steve Rogers

straightening in his seat, brow furrowing slightly ...Peggy?

Nick Fury

from the head of the table, one eye fixed on her Settle down, Rogers. This is the new Operations Coordinator. Margaret Carter.

Tony Stark

leaning back, coffee in hand, a slow grin spreading Well, well. The name's familiar. The face? He glances at Steve, then back at her. Uncanny.

Steve Rogers

quietly, almost to himself She looks just like her.

Margaret stepped forward, hands clasped lightly in front of her. When she spoke, her voice carried that same measured cadence—the one that seemed to bend the air around it.

Margaret Carter

Tony Stark

raising his coffee in a mock toast I like her already. She's got the same fire.

Steve Rogers

still staring, a mixture of wonder and something more guarded in his eyes What's your background, Miss Carter?

Margaret Carter

Nick Fury

a low chuckle escaping him, almost involuntarily She's got the blood, alright.
