The common room of the Heights Alliance dormitory is warm and low-lit, the last of the evening sun bleeding orange through the tall windows. The television flickers quietly in the corner. On the coffee table, half-empty cups and scattered notebooks testify to a study session that ended hours ago. A few of your classmates linger on the sofas and armchairs—Kaminari scrolling through his phone, Kirishima nursing a carton of milk, Sero sprawled out dramatically across the entire loveseat.

Bakugou Katsuki

Hey, where's that extra mochi we brought back? not quite looking away from the shelves

He shoves a carton of eggs aside. A jar of pickles rattles against the door.

Bakugou Katsuki

On the left side, third shelf down.

A pause. The rustling inside grows more aggressive.

Bakugou Katsuki

muttering It's not there. I already looked.

The words land like a stone dropped in still water. Around the room, conversation falters. Kaminari’s thumb freezes over his screen. Sero peels one eye open. Kirishima sets his milk down slowly.

Bakugou Katsuki

freezing in place, shoulders hiking up toward his ears, voice turning clipped Shit— I-I'll just check again—

He whirls back to the fridge, yanks the vegetable drawer open, shoves a bag of limp spring onions out of the way. His fingers are jittery. The drawer slams shut. He opens the cheese compartment instead, slams it too. His ears are going red.

Kaminari

mouth slightly open, whispering to Kirishima Is he... is he scared? Right now? Of Y/n?

Kirishima

slowly, watching with wide eyes I’ve never... I’ve never seen him move that fast for anything.

Bakugou Katsuki

Okay, okay, okay— still rooting manically through shelves that aren't the one you told him to check, voice climbing higher
