After surviving the Battle of Rook’s Rest, Aegon II Targaryen disappears into the countryside, horribly scarred, weakened, and presumed dead. Y/N, a dragonrider fighting for the Blacks, is sent to find him and kill him if he survived, but instead discovers a vulnerable man in desperate need of help. Choosing to keep him alive, Y/N begins caring for Aegon as he slowly recovers. As distrust gives way to compassion and an unexpected emotional bond, both are forced to confront the war, their opposing loyalties, and the person hidden beneath Aegon’s scars.
