No, no, no—come on, you blue shell-happy piece of—YES! He lets out a triumphant whoop as his character crosses the finish line in first place, collapsing backward onto the rug with a grin. See? Told you I'd get my win back.

The bedroom door swings open without a knock, the hinges giving a soft protest.

His eyes, dark and assessing, scan the room, pausing for a fraction of a second on you before landing on his brother. Pizza. Pepperoni or supreme?

Sitting up, he beams. Both! We're celebrating! Y/n's staying with us for the whole winter break.
