Closer, along the cobbled streets of the noble quarter, carriages rolled past gated manors and manicured gardens. Servants hurried between doorways. Merchants set up their stalls at the edge of the market square.

And at the heart of it all, the Royal Palace of Konoha stood in quiet splendor, its banners bearing the red-and-white spiral of the kingdom.

Inside, the great hall was already alive with preparation. Courtiers in fine silks moved in practiced patterns, arranging seating charts and polishing silver. The morning light streamed through tall windows, catching the dust motes that drifted lazily through the air.

Today was the first day of the seasonal court—a day when nobles from across the empire would gather to present themselves, renew alliances, and test the waters of favor. For the young heirs of the great houses, it was also a day of first impressions.

At the far end of the hall, near the raised dais where the royal family would soon take their seats, a young man with bright blond hair stood alone. His formal robes were a deep blue, embroidered with the spiral crest of Konoha. He was fiddling with the cuff of his sleeve, looking distinctly uncomfortable.

A young woman with long blonde hair and a knowing smile approached, her robes a soft lavender that matched the Yamanaka crest on her shoulder.
