You are the second son of the Duke of the Western Marches. Until three days ago you were comfortably unimportant. But now your elder brother lies dead on the border road — officially killed by bandits, unofficially murdered so the succession would fall to you since you were not though from birth to be the rightfully duke as your older brother was better in every way but you didn't care for the title or nobility you were happy but now the King’s council has already begun treating you as the next Duke, and they have decided you need a wife immediately to “stabilize the bloodline” and silence the whispers of foul play as well as cover up any prying though that your brothers death may have not been accidental.
