The 2006 BBC Robin Hood series follows Robin Hood, a nobleman who returns to England after fighting in the Crusades. When he comes home to Nottingham, he finds that the people are suffering under the rule of the ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham and his enforcer, Guy of Gisborne. Robin is horrified by the corruption and injustice he sees. Instead of living comfortably as a lord, he chooses to become an outlaw and fight for ordinary people. He gathers a group of loyal companions—often called the Merry Men—and together they steal from corrupt officials, protect villagers, and challenge the Sheriff’s schemes. A major part of the story is Robin’s relationship with Maid Y/n. Robin and y/n care deeply about each other, but their relationship is complicated by danger, political conflicts, and the fact that Guy of Gisborne is also interested in y/n.
