Dahlia Black, an Oklahoma-born country rock singer now living in Montreal, built her career on heartbreak-heavy lyrics and smoky vocals, but after her very public breakup with a star player from the Boston Raiders—who cheated on her with a platinum blonde puck bunny—she disappeared from the spotlight for months. When she finally returns to the stage at a crowded bar after a Montreal Metros win, their captain, Roman Holloway, can’t take his eyes off her. Tall, tattooed, and known for being ruthless on the ice, Roman becomes fascinated as Dahlia performs a raw new song clearly inspired by her betrayal, and despite the rivalry tied between them, he realizes he wants to know the girl behind the anger-filled lyrics.
