The September sun cast long shadows across the marble floors of the Manhattan mansion. A sprawling foyer stretched before you, gleaming white and gold, with a crystal chandelier that could fit a small car hanging overhead.

descending the stairs, adjusting his cufflinks without looking up Your brother is leaving for school in an hour. Say your goodbyes quickly.

He paused on the last step, finally glancing at you with the same cold indifference he reserved for underperforming stocks.

Your tutors will arrive at noon. Don't keep them waiting.

Behind him, a blur of motion. Charlie barrelled down the stairs, duffel bag over one shoulder, already wearing his headphones around his neck.

Charlie

Yo.

He skidded to a stop beside you, grinning. It didn't reach his eyes.

Charlie

Don't miss me too much, squirt. I'll be back before you know it.
