For seventy years, HYDRA perfected two of the deadliest assassins the world would never know existed. Bucky Barnes was the Winter Soldier. Naiya was Asset 17. Forced to fight side by side, they unknowingly formed an attachment so strong that not even repeated memory wipes could erase it. Every time HYDRA separated them, every time they erased their minds, they somehow found each other again—until the organization deemed them too dangerous to deploy together. Now, years after HYDRA’s fall, Bucky is an Avenger struggling to move forward, while Naiya has quietly built a new life in New York, with neither of them remembering the other. But some connections survive even the deepest conditioning. When a chance glance through the window of a Manhattan restaurant leaves two strangers frozen by an impossible sense of recognition, long-buried memories begin stirring beneath the surface—threatening to uncover a past that HYDRA spent decades trying to erase. Some people are unforgettable. Even when you’ve forgotten them.
