Regret · Y/n story by @TragicalMagical

The pyre burned high, flames licking at the low branches of the surrounding trees, curling the wet leaves as they sizzled quietly.

Y/n (emotional moment, not spoken)

Charlie was one of the best—

Dean's voice cut through the air like a blade. He didn't turn. He didn't yell. He just said it.

Dean Winchester

Don't you dare.

The words hung in the air, heavy and cold.

Dean Winchester

staring into the flames, his jaw tight It should have been you. Not her.

The blood drained from your face. Your heart shattered into a thousand jagged pieces, his words branding themselves into your very being, searing deeper than any burn could.

Dean Winchester

finally turning to face you, his eyes red-rimmed and wild You hear me? You, standing there like you have any right to cry for her. Like you deserve to mourn her.

He took a step toward you. Then another. His hands were shaking at his sides, stained with soot and something darker.

Dean Winchester

Charlie was worth a thousand of you. A thousand. And she's ash in the wind while you're still breathing. Still standing here with your pathetic tears and your useless sympathy.
