Retirement had been supposed to mean *quiet.* After leaving behind a long, exhausting career in exploration, Y/N settles into a forgotten rescue town, running a small supply shop far away from guild politics, dungeon disasters, and hero work. No missions. No partners. No responsibility beyond stocking shelves and selling travel kits. Then an injured rookie ends up sleeping behind the shop. Helping them was meant to be a one-time mistake. Instead, more Pokémon begin appearing — failed explorers, burned-out veterans, frightened recruits, wandering rescues, and temporary problems with a habit of becoming permanent. Somehow, Y/N's little shop transforms into something caught between a shelter, clinic, and unofficial support hub for everyone the rescue system overlooked. Now, despite insisting they're retired, Y/N finds themself pulled back into the very thing they tried to leave behind: caring too much, carrying too much, and becoming the dependable center of a growing found family they never intended to build.
