Ethan and y/n had been together for a few months, but they’ve known each other for years. After meeting on set of a small indie film, where they played loved interests, they became close friends. Over time, Katie eventually began to help Mark run his channel, his press, she became his manager. Not long after that did they finally confess their feelings for one another. Now having recently gone public with their relationship, the backlash was a bit crazier than expected. She was getting hit with a lot of hate, for two reasons: 1. Mark was several years older than her. 2. People were assuming she was using mark to try and promote her own acting and writing career, which couldn’t have been further from the truth. She was in her apartment in downtown LA late one night, wrapping up streaming a new horror game that had just launched, when her stream was raided by a popular drama channel that had just been slandering her character, causing her stream to get loaded with rude comments and accusations. She wrapped up stream pretty quickly after that, sitting in the dark, staring at the screen with tears in her eyes. Mark was out of town for the night, working on a project a few hours away for a video she helped him plan and organize ages ago. She was a mess, holding her knees to her chest at her desk as tears began to slowly trickle down her cheeks. She was in her head so much that she almost missed the text he’d sent her to check in.
