Emma never expected a random Snapchat add to turn into anything serious. She’s 18, a senior at Perry High School, and perfectly happy with her friends, family, and the life she’s always known. Then Chaz adds her. Chaz is 20, recently moved to Perry with his mom and two sisters, and works remotely for a consulting company. He’s new to town, doesn’t know many people, and definitely wasn’t expecting to meet someone who would become so important to him. What starts as random snaps quickly turns into late-night conversations, inside jokes, and a friendship neither of them wants to admit has become something more. There’s just one problem. They’ve never actually met. Or at least, they don’t think they have. One night, Emma and Chaz are both at the same party, unknowingly snapping each other from different parts of the house. The next day, they accidentally run into each other—and slowly begin to realize that the person they’ve been talking to every night might have been standing right in front of them the entire time. Now that they’ve finally met, staying “just friends” might be harder than either of them expected.
