{18+} Jasper Monroe and Y/N have an arrangement. No dates. No promises. No questions about why one of them is knocking on the other’s door after midnight. Whenever life becomes too heavy, they find each other. What happens behind closed doors is supposed to be an escape, nothing more than a few hours where heartbreak, anger, loneliness, and everything else hurting them can disappear. It works. Until Jasper starts staying until morning. Until his hat lives on Y/N’s counter, his clothes end up mixed with theirs, and late-night hookups turn into sleepy conversations neither of them was supposed to want. Until Jasper realizes the thought of Y/N finding comfort in somebody else makes something vicious twist inside his chest. They made one another their favorite way to feel nothing. Now Jasper has to face the increasingly terrifying possibility that somewhere between midnight visits and mornings he wasn’t supposed to stay for, he fell in love with the person he was using to forget the pain.
