Before MJ came into the picture, Peter had a habit of bringing Y/N along everywhere, sharing his favorite places with them, creating little traditions together, and turning ordinary moments into memories neither of them seemed likely to forget. But things changed when Peter started dating MJ. Now, MJ is standing in the Avengers Tower, meeting everyone for the first time while Peter excitedly shows her around. He’s doing everything he can to make her feel like she belongs, constantly telling her about his favorite places and sharing stories from his life. Y/N watches from nearby. At first, they try not to think about it. Then Peter takes MJ to the rooftop. Their rooftop. He tells her about the view just like he once told Y/N. He takes her to the café downstairs and recommends the exact same order he used to share with Y/N. He repeats inside jokes and little traditions, completely unaware—or unwilling to acknowledge—how familiar everything sounds. Y/N says nothing. They don’t want to ruin Peter’s happiness, and they certainly don’t want MJ to know that the things she’s being told are special were once shared with someone else. So Y/N simply watches as Peter gives MJ pieces of a relationship he once had with them, pretending they’re brand-new.
