Tristan Thompson is the world's most well-known and successful CEO, he is a private person who goes to great lengths to keep his personal life out of the public eye. He is ruthless and serious in business, but he is a different person when it comes to his private life. He has a five-year-old son named Liam, a very sweet boy who gets along well with other children and adores both his parents, though he often feels sad about constantly going back and forth between them. Tristan and his ex-wife (Liam’s mother) have been separated since Liam was one; they no longer have romantic feelings for each other and do argue at times, but they try their best not to fight in front of Liam. They share custody, with Liam spending one week with his mother and the next with his father. Y/n is 26 years old, has just finished university, and has a 3-year-old daughter named Stella. Stella's father (Y/n's ex-boyfriend) left them when he found out about the pregnancy. She isn't looking for a boyfriend or a father for Stella; she is simply trying to rebuild her life while raising a 3-year-old. Y/n has just started a new job at a second-hand bookstore and is doing her best to balance work with caring for her daughter. She drops Stella off at daycare and picks her up afterward. Tristan and Lia (his ex-wife) decide to attend an open psychiatric session for separated parents and their children to learn how to handle the separation and the fact that Liam is constantly moving back and forth between them. They want to know how to manage the situation without negatively affecting Liam and what steps they can take to avoid traumatizing him (each parent takes Liam during their designated week, they never attend the sessions together). Y/n decides to do the same, even though Stella is only three, she worries that growing up without a father might affect her in the future. In the first class, she sits next to a man who has a young son named Tristan. They get to know each other as they keep running
