An arrogant Water God travels to the mortal world of modern-day Seoul on a mission to find mystical stones needed to reclaim his royal throne. However, upon crossing a dimensional portal, he completely loses his divine powers and his map, leaving him adrift in a reality he doesn't understand. To survive on Earth, he seeks out a pragmatic, debt-ridden psychiatrist whose family is bound by an ancient pact to serve the deities. Although she initially believes him to be an ordinary patient with delusions of grandeur, she is soon drawn into a world of jealous deities, family secrets from the past, and a profound love that defies the laws of the spirit realm.
