They’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure, solve problems on their own, and keep their personal struggles to themselves. Whenever something goes wrong, Y/N disappears, deals with it privately, and eventually returns as if nothing happened. The Avengers have noticed. Natasha especially has noticed. But they’ve always respected Y/N’s independence, even when they wished Y/N would let them in. Then, late one night, the Avengers Tower receives a call from Y/N. Natasha answers expecting nothing more than a routine conversation. Instead, there’s silence. Y/N doesn’t speak. They don’t tell Natasha where they are or what happened. They simply remain on the line, leaving Natasha to realize that something must be seriously wrong. The news spreads through the Tower almost immediately. Steve knows Y/N wouldn’t make a call like this without a reason. Tony realizes something must have happened to make them abandon their usual independence. Natasha refuses to hang up, determined to find them no matter how little information she has. For the first time, Y/N has admitted—without actually saying a word—that they need someone. And the Avengers aren’t going to ignore that call. Whatever happened, they’re going to find Y/N, bring them home, and figure out why the person who never asks for help finally decided to call.
