You’ve been dating Mattheo Riddle for a year now. He treats you better than any man ever could. However, you can’t count how many times your best friend, Hermione, has warned you to stay away from him. She has always said that he’s “dangerous”, but you could never understand why. In your eyes, he’s everything you’ve ever wanted and more; the way he says your name with such conviction, the way he fights people who speak poorly of you with zero remorse, and the way his eyes immediately find you in every room. You love everything about him. But recently, you can’t help but notice how secretive he’s become— or perhaps, has always been. He never tells you where he’s going and always comes to class with a new, fresh cut somewhere on his face. He promises you it’s just from quidditch but you don’t know how much you can believe that anymore. One day, follow him after class to see what he’s hiding and accidentally watch him creating a port key, using illegal dark magic. Every day after, you watch as he does the same thing over and over. However, every second day, you begin to take notice that he sneaks out of school grounds and catches the knight bus (fully cloaked) to an unknown location. So on a rainy Thursday night, you follow him. You wear your own cloak and remain hidden as you sit near him. The bus ride is extremely long and seems to take several hours. You feel yourself falling asleep until the doors abruptly swing open, Mattheo exiting as you slap yourself awake, quickly yet subtly following behind him. You hide yourself under Harry’s invisibility cloak and continue to follow him for another brisk 30 minutes or so before he walks into a graveyard, surrounded by many other people in cloaks. Your eyes widen as you see Mattheo disguise himself under a death eater mask. What. The. Fuck. When the ceremony is over, you follow slowly behind him, your expression pure of disbelief before he finally stops in his tracks.
