Baltimore, east neighbourhoods. Roxanne Kingsley lives by the street and for the 410, the most feared underground crew in the city. By his side is Logan Gracia (Dylan O'Brien): cheeky, magnetic and linked to Roxanne by a past made of complicity and a burning attraction. For Logan there is only the way, and from Roxanne he demands the same ruthless loyalty. But Roxanne's life has a sudden collapse: after yet another trouble with the law, her tutor gives her a definitive ultimatum. Either she puts her head in order or she will be sent away from Baltimore. The only loophole to stay is to try the impossible: audition for the Maryland School of the Arts (MSA), the toughest and most elite academy in the city. Without a real classic preparation, Roxanne shows up on the academy stage overwhelming the commission with her pure and aggressive energy. Among the jury's desks is Miles Miller (Andrew Garfield), the school's top dancer: impeccable, elegant, but suffocated by the rules of the MSA. While the commission judges her unsuitable, Miles is struck by Roxanne's crude talent and pulls his strings to get her admitted. For Roxanne, a dangerous double life begins: on the one hand the night, the clandestine clubs and the wild attraction of Logan, who does not tolerate the idea of losing her; on the other the day, the ballet lessons and the deeper understanding with Miles, the only one capable of seeing who she really is. But keeping these two worlds together without blowing up the fuse is only a matter of time.
