Roxy didn't look up from her phone. She sat on the floor between the couch and the coffee table, back against the cushions, legs stretched out in front of her.

Her thumb moved like she was scrolling, but her eyes kept darting to the top of the screen.

She tossed her phone onto the couch and reached for the pizza. Then her phone buzzed.

She flipped the phone facedown.

Before Y/n could answer, something thudded upstairs. Both of them went quiet. Roxy slowly looked toward the ceiling.

She shook her head without looking away from the ceiling.

The television suddenly went black. So did every light in the house. For several seconds, neither of them moved.
