Two months ago, Y/N and Kade Mitchell agreed to keep things casual. No labels. No expectations. And absolutely no catching feelings. Cute plan. Now Y/N has a charger at his place, Kade keeps her favorite snacks in his kitchen, and “Netflix and chill” somehow keeps turning into sleepovers, cuddling, petty jealousy, and arguments that sound suspiciously like something a couple would have. But according to Kade? They’re still just friends with benefits. Which would be a lot more believable if he’d stop calling her pretty girl, glaring at every man who talks to her, and texting you home, baby? five minutes after she leaves. Neither of them wants a relationship. Neither of them has feelings. And neither of them is convincing a damn soul. 😭

Kade's apartment sits on the fourth floor of a brick building with a broken elevator and a hallway light that's been flickering for weeks. Inside, it's all dark gray walls, one leather couch, a TV too big for the room, and a kitchen counter that's never once seen a real meal cooked on it. He keeps it clean, though. Not spotless—lived-in. Hoodie over the back of a chair. Sneakers kicked off by the door. Two water bottles on the nightstand, because he knew Y/n would want one.
