The story begins with you and your older brother, Mick, taking part in a high-stakes illegal street race to determine who will control Coast City’s racing scene. During the race, another driver crashes into Mick’s car, causing a devastating accident. Mick is killed, and you survive but suffer amnesia, leaving you unable to remember what happened. Six months later, you wake up in the hospital. Mick’s girlfriend, Sarah (Sara), and your loyal teammate Carter help you recover and encourage you to return to street racing. You begin rebuilding your crew, defeating rival gangs, reclaiming territories that once belonged to Mick, and questioning each crew leader for clues about the mysterious crash. As your investigation continues, you discover that a racer named Buddy deliberately caused the accident—but only because someone hired him to do it. Buddy eventually gives you evidence that leads to EX, a powerful street racer who organized the hit. With help from MK, an undercover police officer investigating Mick’s death, you defeat EX and believe you’ve solved the case.
