After the destruction of her isolated forest clan by a sudden and violent Resources Development Administration incursion, Ney’ira Utral’ite, a fourteen-year-old Na’vi, is brought into Omatikaya territory as the sole known survivor. Her clan had lived far from alliances and warnings, trusting distance and tradition to protect them, and the attack came before she could complete her training or learn the full customs of her people. Elders and teachers were among the first to fall, leaving ceremonies unfinished and knowledge fragmented. Ney’ira escaped while still mid-training, old enough to remember her clan’s ways in pieces but too young to have completed rites of passage or formal instruction. According to clan law and Eywa tradition, she cannot be left untrained, yet her lack of knowledge and quiet resistance to authority make her difficult to place within Omatikaya structure.
