Draco Malfoy hadn't slept much the night before his first day of school. Not because he was nervous, because he was so excited. For years, he'd heard stories about Harry Potter. The Boy Who Lived. The famous Harry Potter. The boy whose name seemed to exist everywhere, long before Draco ever stepped foot inside Hogwarts. And now, finally, he was going to meet him. Draco had imagined it more times than he'd ever admit. He'd wondered what Harry would be like, what they'd talk about, what it would be like to have the most famous wizard in the world as his friend. So when Draco finally stood in the Hogwarts Express corridor and saw Harry Potter sitting there, he knew exactly what he wanted. A friendship. He approached him after the sorting with all the confidence he'd been raised to have, offered his hand, and waited. Harry rejected him. Just like that. Draco laughed it off. Of course he did. He rolled his eyes, muttered something about Potter being an idiot, and walked away as though the entire thing had been beneath him. But Y/N noticed.
